Towards 501 is a strategic initiative developed by P&C and School leadership designed to grow Deniliquin High School's enrolments over the next 2 years. By increasing student numbers to 501 and beyond, the school will unlock multiple benefits for teachers, staff, students, families, and in turn, the wider community.
This project is built around three key goals, each supported by targeted actions and community engagement.
Towards 501 will be distributing promotional materials such as flyers, videos, and website updates to highlight the DHS’s strengths. Our school has plenty to be proud of; specialty learning opportunities including extension classes, homework program, MC classes, Duke of Ed, Driver’s Ed, agriculture farm, excursions, camps, band, Great Vic Bike Ride, outdoor ovals and well-maintained grounds, canteen, ongoing building improvements, central town location and more.
The school will run more open days, tours, and community events will be held to showcase the school to prospective families. Families with primary school aged students in years 4-6, new residents in the area and students living in our region travelling away each day for school will be the target audience.
Local businesses and organisations will be invited to become Community Champions. They will receive promotional materials and be encouraged to attend school events and support the campaign. A sponsorship model will help fund long-term goals. Register your interest today!
Elevating student pride and school engagement will help to make this project successful. Guest speakers, student-led initiatives, and teacher recognition programs may implement. Past alumni will be invited to school assemblies as will community role models to inspire students to appreciate education, make the most of learning opportunities and desire to be part of day-to-day school life.
Every teacher, student, parent and staff member plays a vital role in promoting Towards 501.
One positive conversation about the ambition for our school can have a big impact. By promoting positive messaging about Deniliquin High School and encouraging prospective families to consider a tour or enrolment, we can reach the 501-student goal and see real changed for a brighter future at Deniliquin High School. More enrolments mean more resources, opportunities, and pride for our school community.
